Nutrition Action Zimbabwe a local based NGO in partnership with Action Contre-la Faim is seeking to recruit for the following vacancies to support implementation of an emergency program in Chiredzi, Mwenezi and Mutare Rural

Job summary
The Nutrition Officer is responsible for implementing nutrition component that address issues of food utilisation and care practices
Main Duties
- Technical Support & Management
- Participate in the design and production of appropriate maternal, infant and young child feeding and WASH messages for Promoting behavior change.
- Development of nutrition and food utilization messages
- Production/selection of IEC material (posters, cards …), interactive activities to promote good nutrition and food utilization
- Coordination and monitoring of sensitization sessions of food assistance beneficiaries on good nutrition and food utilization
- Actively participate in the collection and analysis of information used to determine vulnerability, and create transparent targeting criteria, assist in data collection and analysis for beneficiary and community selection, as well as for monitoring: and evaluation.
- Contribute to the development of different tools needed for proper implementation of programs such as (MOU’s, FGDs ,PDMs…etc.)
- Organize and conduct trainings for all program beneficiaries
- Work with logistics to follow up on procurements within the procurement plan to ensure efficient implementation
- Produce timely reports for internal use, and contribute to donor reports on the status of on-going programming
- Train project beneficiaries on the Health harvest curriculum
- Monitor project implementation and provide remedial support to targeted beneficiaries
- Comply with NAZ policies and regulations with respect to child protection, code of conduct, health and safety, equal Opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures
Coordination & Representation
- Organize and implement the nutrition component and ensure that the program complies with Ministry of Health guidelines .
- In collaboration with the District Program Coordinator, ensure that the local authorities and particularly the District/ Province Health Department is involved in the planning, implementation and monitoring of quality program
- Act as a liaison between communities and the NAZ office; maintain good relationships with beneficiaries and local leaders/authorities; and represent NAZ while in the field
- Attend relevant internal and external meetings as directed by the District Program Coordinator
Administrative and Other Duties
- Provide weekly written reports on activities to the District Program Coordinator: Participate in the follow-up of supplies consumption and Orders
- Overall planning for the functioning of the project
- Under the direction of the District Program Coordinator, take up responsibilities such as program activities follow up and work planning;
Qualifications and Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Nutrition/Public Health
- Working experience of at least two years in Primary Health Care
- Class 3 driver’s license is an added advantage
