Magamba Network, Zimbabwe’s trailblazing creative and digital media organisation, is looking for a young, dynamic Project Coordinator.

We are launching Arts4Change, a brand new project that will use film, music and art to creatively promote accountability. We are looking for a talented Project Coordinator who would run this new project on a day-to-day basis, oversee personnel, and provide creative input to this vibrant arts and media project. The individual would need to be skilled in project management, have good interpersonal skills and be passionate about arts, media and accountability.

The successful candidate will be a creative and experienced professional with a background in the creative sector and/or the civic sector as well as competencies in project management. It is key that the individual is a team player and works well in a collaborative environment.

The candidate should be methodical, well organised and have the ability to manage multiple a team. This post is being offered on a fixed term contract basis.

Project Management

  • Coordinating the Arts 4 Change project;
  • Managing and coordinating project logistics;
  • Drafting and coordinating the overall project workplan;
  • Overseeing and coordinating activities with Film Fellowship Officer and Rap 2 Rep Officer;
  • Oversee studio schedule and productions;
  • Assisting with project promotion and publicity;
  • Liaising with funding partners and sponsors;
  • Providing regular updates and progress reports to Magamba;
  • Ensuring the sustainability of the project through income generation and fundraising;
  • Coordinating and hiring project staff;
  • Liaising with service providers;
  • Meeting with the Magamba Operations Manager for advice on planning, partnerships and so forth;
  • Create and implement project monitoring frameworks, indicators, target data collection tools, M&E plans;
  • Timeously provide periodic narrative reports to the Magamba Operations Manager on all activities, outputs and relevant outcome indicators;
  • Ensuring that project runs within budget;
  • Ensuring that purchase requests are submitted timely together with all relevant supporting documents such as fully signed contracts, invoices, 3 comparative quotes & tax clearance certificates where applicable, before each payment is processed, to promote smooth flow of activities;
  • Oversee designing of graphics and publicity materials;
  • Create copy for Press Releases for local and national media and build on media contact-list;
  • Keep an archive of press cuttings, adverts clippings and press photos;
  • Organise specific promotional events such as press conferences;
  • Represent Magamba Network at events and other business development opportunities


  • Undergo any appropriate training as directed by the organisation;
  • Comply with in-house policy, systems and procedures of the organization at all times;
  • Work as part of the team in contributing towards meeting the organisation’s objectives;
  • Manage any staff assigned to work for the project;

The person

  • Bachelor’s degree in Arts, Humanities or related field;
  • Good people management skills;
  • Creative and artistic;
  • Proven work experience as a Project Coordinator;
  • Solid experience with digital technology;
  • Good report writing and proposal writing skills;
  • Command of written and spoken English;
  • Good Computers skills;
  • Tech savvy and experience in social media management;
  • Excellent presentation; interpersonal skills; must have self-confidence
