The Salvation Army-Howard Mission Hospital is a registered faith based organisation providing clinical and social services to marginalised communities in Mashonaland Central of Zimbabwe The organisation is committed to improve the wellbeing of people through quality health care, child protection and household economic empowerment. A dedicated team of experts with a mix of unique talent is helping the organisation in addressing the community’s connected challenges.

Reporting to Guruve Office Lead duties will be as follows

  • Conducting individual and household assessments and verifications;
  • Identifying children in need of protection and health services supported by the program, assessing and linking them with resource systems;
  • Orientation of social protection issues to stakeholders at health facilities;
  • Coordinate CBT sessions;
  • Coordinate Child Rights Education;
  • Birth registration;
  • Analyze and monitor trends, opportunities and challenges in HIV, Health and Child Protection programming;
  • Work closely with DSW and health department to identify promising practices in increasing linkages between the clinical and social;
  • Assists with the coordination of workshops, meetings ensure linkages between health and social protection are coordinated and provide logistical support as necessary;
  • Participate and assist in the designing of a clear implementation plan for the Pathways project;
  • Case conferencing;
  • Assisting in the documentation and evidence-building for case management;
  • Maintaining proper and up to date case management files;
  • Generating reports as required;
  • Maintaining good relationships with MoHCC, DSW as well as partner organizations at district level;
  • Support reintegration, retention, attendance and progression of children in school;
  • Document case management and education best practices;
  • Manage project volunteers welfare;
  • Ensure any violations or non-compliance to Howard Hospital Child protection and safeguarding policy are reported to the Administrator/ Management;
  • Participate in planning and conducting training of and adherence to the Child Protection Policy from the perspective of the program and in general;
  • Support and supervision of project sites;
  • Train volunteers on data collection tools;
  • Check data quality on submitted data by volunteers;
  • Facilitate monthly volunteer feedback meetings

The incumbent should have the following requirements:

  • Degree in Social Work;
  • 1 year Relevant Experience;
  • An experience in USAID funded programme would be an added advantage;
  • Good Report Writing Skills;
  • Stakeholder Management Skills;
  • Good Interpersonal Skills;
  • Self-Starter;
  • Able to meet reporting deadlines
