DanChurchAid (DCA) is a Danish faith-based civil society organization. It was founded in 1922 by representatives of the Danish Evangelical Church, which continues to be a key DCA constituency. DCA is also supported by volunteers, supporters, and staff working hard to save lives in many countries. DanChurchAid supports the needy and the poorest of the world in their struggle for a dignified and better life and helps those whose lives are threatened.

Position Summary

The Finance and administration officer (FAO) will particularly be responsible for the attainment of DCA / ACT Alliance programme partnerships set objectives. He/she will be responsible for the finance, administration, procurement and will work closely with the   Head of Finance (HOF) and Programme officers. The projects he/she will be involved with include Active Citizenship, and long-term development activities implemented in partnership with other NGO partners.


  • Grant management financial obligations and ensure proper support is given to HOF and programme staff;
  • Bookkeeping and ensure all required reports are done and submitted in a timely manner;
  • The administration of the Regional Office which includes, financial management, asset management, record keeping and administrative support and facilitation of special events;
  • Procurement as per organisation manual;
  • Maintaining an overview of finances of the office and projects undertaken by the DCA Zimbabwe Office;
  • Ensuring quality and timely submission of financial reports, audits;
  • Monitoring projects and partners on the financial and procurement aspects;
  • Supporting HOF and Programme staff in sustaining and developing new partnerships and funding opportunities;
  • Ensuring that the finances entrusted in DCA programmes and the Regional Office  are used in an accountable and transparent manner.

Skills and Qualifications

  • A degree in Accounting/Finance or related fields; a minimum of 5 years of work experience in Financial management positions in NGOs or International agencies;
  • Ability to manage large and complex donor funded programmes/projects;
  • Ability to work in multi-cultural and multi-national environment;
  • Excellent skills in written and oral English language;
  • Good interpersonal and inter-organizational working experience and collaborating closely with multi-level stakeholders;
  • Strong IT skills (strong working experience of spreadsheets);
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in team situations
