Context

Cordaid is currently implementing a 9-month humanitarian aid project through the Dutch Relief Alliance’s(DRA) Zambia/Zimbabwe Joint Response (ZZJR). Cordaid is the lead agency for the ZZJR and is coordinating the implementation of FSL, WASH and Nutrition activities, integrated with covid-19 prevention measures, by 8 other DRA member organizations. Activities are implemented in drought affected areas in Mashona Land East – Seke, Chikomba, Marondera, Mutoko; Midlands – Chirumhanzu; Matabele Land North – Tsholotso, Nkayi, Bubi; and Matabele Land South – Bulilima, Umzingwane.

Objective

The objective of this assignment will be to raise visibility on the ZZJR project through the collection of photos and stories of the people involved in the project in Zimbabwe. They will be the people who receive aid and the aid workers. The assignment will effectively create a story about the work of the DRA partners in Zimbabwe by zooming in on a few locations and people that show best what challenges exist in the area and what is being done to help the people.

Cordaid is looking for a local journalist/photographer who can write three human interest stories in English and take 50 to 100 high quality photographs (with captions) of: close ups of key beneficiaries and staff; close ups and action shots of identified beneficiaries for the interviews; pictures of the villages and the work being done (WASH, FSL and/or Nutrition); pictures of people participating with covid-19 mitigation measures; setting/surrounding

The deliverables will be used mainly for DRA communications purposes with the following target audiences: the Dutch/Zimbabwe/Zambia public, DRA member organizations and other professional stakeholders
