We are seeking to recruit a specialist to support the work of the Governance Global Practice (GGP) in Zimbabwe, as part of the World Bank’s Zimbabwe country program. 
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
As a member of the World Bank project task teams and under the guidance of the task team leaders: contribute to the implementation of governance projects, including the public financial management projects! This will include engagement and coordination with the clients in the Government of Zimbabwe, and provision of technical guidance with respect to the projects. It will also include facilitating the World Bank task teams in their engagement with the clients. In addition, it will entail monitoring implementation progress and achievement of results, providing progress updates to task teams, and coordinating and participating in review missions by the task team.
Provide support to the GGP Zimbabwe team in the strategic thinking of the governance program and provide technical support to task team in designing new technical assistance projects.
Provide support to task teams in governance-related Advisory Services and Analytics (ASAs), including civil service reform, digital economy reforms, state-owned enterprise reform.
Contribute to World Bank administration and budget aspects related to project, ASA and trust funds and other external funds.
Support our in-country governance dialogue with key stakeholders such as senior government officials, development partners, members of parliament, state owned enterprises and parastatals, civil society etc.. It will also include internal World Bank clients such as the Country Management Unit and other global practices.
Provide updates on governance developments in Zimbabwe and governance activities to GGP unit, CMU, Zimbabwe Reconstruction Fund manager and development partners.
Contribute to key World Bank reviews such as the Country Policy and Institutional Assessment (CPIA) and other strategy documents.
Support the hiring, management and monitoring of local short term consultants and firms that provide support to the governance program, and review their deliverables.

Selection Criteria

• Master’s degree in relevant field (such as public finance, public administration, economics, accounting, public policy) and five years of relevant work experience.
• In-depth knowledge of the Zimbabwe governance landscape in such areas as public financial management, civil service reform, political economy, digital economy and state-owned enterprises. 
• Substantial experience in supporting government to develop and implement governance reforms
• Strong reform facilitation and client engagement skills
• Solid analytical skills
• Strong writing and communication skills in English
• Solid team player and ability to work in diverse teams
• Flexibility and adaptability
