Job Overview

CARE began working in Zimbabwe in 1992 in response to a severe regional drought. After establishing a drought mitigation program, CARE began longer term developmental programs with local partners in building small dams, strengthening local microfinance institutions, and launching projects to assist small businesspersons in the rural areas.

CARE Zimbabwe’s overall goal is to empower disadvantaged and poor households to meet their basic needs. Programs promote sustainable livelihoods of poor and vulnerable people.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing Monitoring and Evaluation activities and ensure regular monitoring of the project deliverables and processes.

Key duties and Responsibilities

  • Plans, develops individual Monitoring and Evaluation activities and submits them to the Team Leader.
  • Develops an Individual Operating Plan from the project Annual Operating Plan and submits to the Team Leader.
  • Inputs into the Monitoring and Evaluation activity plan.
  • Participates in baseline, midterm and endline evaluations.
  • Collects data through Focus group discussions, knowledge, practice surveys and rolling profiles and submits to the MEAL Specialist.
  • Compiles, cleans both qualitative and quantitative data and supports data entry.
  • Administers the cleaning, updating of project database and submits to the Database Administrator.
  • Conducts data quality assessments and provides feedback to the MEAL Specialist.
  • Compiles survey data and submits to the Database Administrator.
  • Produces documents such as Lessons learnt summaries, human interest stories and submits to the MEAL Specialist.
  • Files and achieves project documents as per project requirements.
  • Complies district statistical report and submits to the MEAL Specialist.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation/Social Sciences/ Development Studies/Mathematics or equivalent
  • 2 years working experience in a Monitoring and Evaluation or related field
  • Valid class 3 motorbike riding license is a must
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
