#ResiliArt Illustration Contest: UNESCO
The UNESCO Regional Office for Southern Africa is inviting illustrators to enter the #ResiliArt Illustration Contest. The contest is part of UNESCO’s global movement towards raising awareness about the impact of COVID-19 on the culture sector and the livelihoods of creative professionals. In addition to this, the movement is giving visibility to artists and ensuring their voices are heard at policy level to address existing gaps and needs.
The #ResiliArt Illustration Contest is open to participants aged between 16 – 25 years old residing in the following countries: Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. Contestants are welcome to submit traditional or modern illustrations representative of the following themes:
- Art is resilient or
- The effects of COVID19 on the culture and creative industry or
- The effect of COVID19 on you, as an artist.
The prizes are as follows:
- First Prize USD$550
- Second Prize USD$450
- Third Prize USD$400
- #ResiliArt Audience Award USD$300
The TOP 10 Illustrations will be featured on UNESCO’s media platforms.
